A basketball community for the City of Atlanta — started in 2020, now running four branches across Georgia.
HoopAtlanta is a youth boys and girls basketball program based in the Metro Atlanta area, trading as HoopAtlanta Basketball. Their Prep Hoops program page lists the location as Atlanta, Georgia and the age groups as 17U, 16U, 15U, 14U, 13U, 12U and 11U.
They run four branches — Athens, Atlanta, Suwanee and Savannah — each with its own tryout at its own venue: Bethlehem Christian Academy, The Lovett School, Suwanee Sports Academy and Calvary Day School respectively, plus Prince Avenue Christian School for a separate HoopAthens listing.
Beyond the AAU teams they offer skill training for all ages, youth camps, and community events including the Hoop Exchange, the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Cup and the HoopAtlanta Holiday Classic. Their own note on the Hoop Exchange: it is an annual collaboration that raised over $8k for charity while putting on an event for the Atlanta basketball community at large.
Their published collaborators, listed in their own Instagram bio and repeated in a pinned post on X, are Under Armour Basketball, the Rise Circuit and HoopSeen. No founder, director, staff or trainer is named anywhere on their site — a testimonial refers to a “Coach Jordan” but no surname is published.
HoopAtlanta is one of the most organized and well-run travel programs I’ve seen. Coach Jordan really advocates for his guys and does anything he can to make sure they have an opportunity to play at the next level. As a college coach, they make it very easy for me to recruit from them by having all their players maintain a 3.0 GPA and having all their info readily available.
